FAQ

The Erratics series takes its namesake from geologic terminology. As  glaciers moved and melted across the landcape, chunks of rock fell away, depositing themselves in places outside their native context.

Inlaid into the surface of furniture pieces are similarly erratics. Patchworks of wood that are both flush and slightly proud of the surrounding surface, and wood-cast brass -  individually hand-cast tiles made by pouringmolten bronze into wooden molds, each unique as the mold is destroyed through the casting process

Every piece is made to order and can be customized in size, material, finish, color, and details. Pieces are tailored to footprint and dimension specifications.

Hardware - unless otherwise specificed, all cabinets come standard with Euro-style soft-close hinges and drawer sides.

Wood is finished with a hand-applied hardwax oil. Each layer builds to create depth, luster, and protection. Note that we typically inlay wood and metal to create an integral and solid surface top, enhancing the natural material. More uniform material can be specified and sourced.        

Metals are protected with a high-grade wax that allows for some surface protection, but left alone, will allow the metal to patina over time. Lacquer, patina, or nickel plating available on request.      

Can be designed with adjustable or fixed shelving, drawers, or alternative internal organizing systems.

Can be designed as a drawer unit.
