Saguaro Vessels

An incomplete archive.

Saguaro Vessels are the results of process-oriented design, created through a series of studio-specific molds that allow for chance, experimentation, and gesture, generating an ongoing library and playspace of forms.

The vessels are made serially, as each mold is reused, but as they burn and decay, and due to the looseness of the system, each piece is unique, ranging in scale, and complexity.

The molds are simple and crude, and they release graceful, sensual forms. I carve and manipulate the wood molds to achieve different forms and textures.
